1. GENERAL
| (a) |
This section of the manual outlines regulations pertaining to the Tournament player participating in the Canadian PGA Ottawa Zone co-sponsored events. These regulations were drawn up with the best interests of the sponsors, players and the game of golf in mind. The conduct of the professional entrant is the responsibility of the Canadian PGA Ottawa Zone and no other body may take disciplinary action against the professional contestant. The disciplinary committee of the Canadian PGA Ottawa Zone has the authority to uphold the by-laws concerning player conduct. |
| (b) | The Player's Declaration must be completed and reach CPGA of Ottawa Zone Office by June 1st. 2010. |
2. ELIGIBILITY

* Any member of the CPGA who joins the Ottawa Zone as a secondary zone (including members of the Canadian Tournament Player's Division (TPD); will be referred to, in this tournament manual, as Dual Members.

Order of Tournament Eligibility * For all CPGA Ottawa Zone events. Category: 1. All Primary Members of the CPGA Ottawa Zone. On the closing date of an event, the captain will retain all entries from category (1). If the number of entries from that category is insufficient to fill the needs of the event; entries from category (2), (3), (4), (5), and (6), in that order, will be used until the field is completed. |
| (b) |
Professionals will not be allowed to participate in tournaments unless each entry fee and/or fine is up-to-date and paid in full. |
| (c) |
Dual Members are not eligible to be Player of the Year |
3. ENTRIES
| (a) | Entries must be received at the Zone Office no later than the entry deadline with payment enclosed. |
| (b) | Entry deadlines will be approximately 10 days prior to the event, and must arrive at the Zone Office no later than 5 pm on the day of the deadline. |
| (c) | To avoid any problems we recommend sending entries with a form of payment well in advance of the deadline. |
| (d) | Starting times will be available at the tournament site pro shop and on the members side of the web site three days in advance. |
4. LENGTH OF TOURNAMENT
| (a) | If, in the judgement of the Captain's Committee (made up of the Captain, Host Professional and a Senior Director in attendance), adverse weather or any other occurrence beyond the control of the Canadian PGA Ottawa Zone, renders the commencement or continuation of the tournament impracticable, play shall be postponed until such time as the Captain's Committee, after consultation with the sponsor, considers that play can be continued. |
| (b) |
Suspension of Play: If during the tournament it becomes necessary to suspend play for a period of time, the course official will cover the course in a golf cart, sounding intermittent blasts on the horn, one blast will suspend play. On hearing this blast, all competitors MUST stop playing, and may take shelter. |
| (c) |
Resumption of Play: As soon as conditions allow play to be resumed, the course official will cover the course sounding two blasts on the horn. As soon as this sound is heard, play will be resumed immediately by all competitors on the course. |
| (d) |
In the event of the curtailment or cancellation of a tournament, prize money will be distributed at the discretion of the Captains Committee. |
| (e) |
In the event that one of the two rounds of the Canadian PGA Ottawa Zone Championship is cancelled, the tournament will be decided on 18 holes. |
5. RULES GOVERNING PLAY
The rules governing playing shall be:
| (a) | The RCGA Rules of Golf. |
| (b) | The current Canadian PGA Ottawa Zone Tournament Rules. |
| (c) | The local rules as provided by the Host Professional |
6. TOURNAMENT ADMINISTRATION
The Captain shall administer the tournament rules laid down in the Canadian PGA
Ottawa Zone Tournament Manual, supplemented by any subsequently published rule.
The Captain shall refer to the Captain's Committee any matter, which he feels requires the consideration of the Committee. A player has the right to appeal at the next Board of Directors' meeting. On notice of appeal, the Captain shall submit a written report to the Board of Directors in time for such a meeting.
7. SPECIAL RULES

Slow Play: Slow play will not be tolerated and firm action will be taken whenever official complaints are verified. Except in special circumstances, the loss of two clear holes on the preceding match will be deemed to be slow play. |

Prize Presentation: All prize winners in both individual and/or team events, must be in attendance at the prize presentation or forfeit 50% of their prize monies to the Canadian PGA Ottawa Zone, unless just cause can be shown. |

Dress Code: Shorts are not permitted at any time. |
8. TIES
In the case of a tie for low professional, a sudden death play-off will be necessary to decide a winner.
9. RETURN OF SCORECARDS (Cards need to be returned immediately after completion of play.)
| (a) | Players are reminded that checking and signing of their card is entirely their own responsibility. |
10. CADDIES
| (a) | Caddies are the sole responsibility of the player employing them. |
11. FINES
All fines must be paid or an appeal must be made before play will be allowed in the next round of the tournament or in the next tournament.

All fines will be double for the second offence and a third offence may lead to expulsion from competing in future CPGA of Ottawa tournaments.
12. DRESS
All Professionals and their Caddies will obey the dress rules of the host club (Shirts, Hats & Shoes.) Players are not permitted to wear shorts, caddies are permitted but are governed by club rules.
13. DISCIPLINARY COMMITTEE
The Disciplinary Committee is composed of your President, your Membership Chairman, and your Captain.
14. PRIZE MONEY
All cheques will be handed out following completion of play.
If participant finishes in the money and is not present to receive cheque he/she will forfeit 50% of his/her cheque.
15. ELECTRIC CARTS
Electric carts may be used in all events.
16. CONFLICTING EVENTS
A great deal of time has been spent on the schedule to avoid conflicts. If you feel compelled to play in a conflicting event, please write a letter to the Captain explaining your intensions.
